If you also need firewalling for some of the interfaces, you may be happy with the shorewall package. The debian shorewall package maintainer is involved in the shorewall project to some extend, and does a good job of backporting every shorewall release to Debian stable. So you've always an up-to-date fw, even on Debian stable.
