I don't think that the problem is due to the SSD, it rather looks as if the hardware makes the difference. I sent mine back and received a new one shortly after, which did not show the error anymore. However, it still happens that the only thing I see is "Port-00: Hard Disk, ", while the device is correctly enumerated by OpenBSD then. This wasn't the case with the previous board. As already mentioned this looks like a timing issue to me. I don't know if the problem has been inspected at SOEKRIS. As it is OS agnostic and involves the BIOS part exclusively, it should be pretty easy to reproduce.
