You might double-check that the install kernel/initrd hasn't been updated out from under you. I have had a newer version of the installer (even in stable) come out, making my already-downloaded kernel/initrd look for packages that weren't there (at the version it was looking for). http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian/dists/squeeze/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/debian-installer/i386/ It looks like the current version is from 20120128, so if you'd downloaded before that, you might just need to grab the new ones.
