I would also like to know, if this does affect Linux? My Linux (Gentoo) 
shows currently, that the Atom should be running at 1600 MHz. But when I 
compile a kernel, this takes much much longer (IIRC, about 3 times 
slower) than on my older N270 Atom notebook. Could be this also a CPU 
clock programming issue?

That would explain a lot..

At least ACPI support would be nice, in order to get CPUFreq working 
under Linux. But as Soren said, its not top on the list, but he wanted 
to have a look into it.
