Does that mean that under Linux, because speedstep is not enabled, the CPU 
always runs at full speed? So this patch will not increase performance, 
but will reduce power consumption by enabling speedstep?

I'd also really like ACPI support to enable the HPET timer and give us a 
PNP device to hang the LEDs platform driver off. Otherwise I'm not sure if 
the kernel devs will accept it, because I currently have no way to 
automatically detect the hardware and load the driver only if it's a 
net6501.
