I actually read about Shorewall back when I was setting up my first Debian root 
server… However, back in the day I decided to get into iptables directly, 
because Shorewall is basically a frontend to iptables as far as I know… This 
has worked very well for me on my root server and I think I’m gonna stick with 
that on my Soekris box as well, now that I figured out how to do layer 2 
firewalling! I’ll definitely keep that in mind though just in case.
