Hi,

I've owned a Soekris net6501-50 since december 2011. I'm perfectly happy
with the device (used as a router at home), except that I seem to have
had some misfortune with my SSDs.

Originally, I only used a single SSD:
  Transcend 16GB mSATA MLC SSD

Unfortunately, I had some problems with it (it could not read some files
from disk), so I replaced this with two other SSD in september 2013:
Intel SSD 525 Series 30GB mSATA 25nm MLC SSD

In oktober 2014, ZFS reported that it was degraded, and the SSD in
gpt/system1 could not be read. In the end, I fixed that by removing it,
and putting it back in the socket. That solved the issue.

I now have the same problem: the SSD in gpt/system1 can't be read.

Now, I'm happy to buy another replacement SSD, but start to wonder if
the socket could be the problem.

Unfortunately, I'm software-guy, not a hardware-guy, so I wonder: what's
the best way to clean a mSATA socket?

Most webpages after a quick search suggested cleaning alcohol, either
with soft cloth, toothpick or q-tip for cleaning, and a cannnister of
pressurised air to dry it.

Before I try this, I wanted a check if this makes sense. Comments are
much appreciated.

Regards,
Freek
