SOFSIP_AUDIO=OSS ./sofsip_cli sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
everything goes as I said in my previous mail.

Ok, I think we are on to something. If you hear a few secs of audio at
startup, this suggests a bug in gstreamer. I opened already one bug to
gstreamer bugzilla [1], but later closed it as I couldn't reliably
reproduce the problem. But, but, I guess it's time to reopen the item.

Could you additionally test with OSS output, i.e. run sofsip_cli with
"SOFSIP_AUDIO=OSS ./sofsip_cli".
