Hello Cecil,

That is a very valid point. though what you gain on one side you have
to give up on the other side of the pass band. I believe it is also
difficult to find those crystals in the same price range Looking in
the Mouser catalog, I could not find any 36.0 MHz crystals either. 

So Lets look a little more into this approach. The noise, if present
is more of a problem than the LO signal All DC receivers will show the
LO.
