Given the simplicity of the SR40 I think that also the Tx part will be very simple, so controlling it should be an easy task, ideal for a first test :-) I don't know if it will be CW only (then the only things to control will be the key paddle and the PTT switch), or SSB, in which case there will be the need to generate the two audio I/Q signals, starting from the microphone input. I am watching, as surely you do, the softrock40 group for information.
