Thanks for the pointer to FLLs and Huff & Puff stabilisers. I think the
John Beech(G8SEQ) circuit from SPRAT 122 and via
hanssummers.com/radio/huffpuff/library/index.htm
which uses the watch movement has to be the simplest around. This could
be fed with the 32KHz signal direct from the osclliator to give a nice
stepping frequency control. I'll have a try at that.
