Digi-Key has 26 MHz VCTCXOs (voltage controlled temperature
compensated crystal oscillators) for $7.50. The part number is
300-1107-1. I'm using one as the reference for the DDS-60 board in my
homebrew SDR. Power consumption is less than 2 mA at 3 volts, which
makes it run much cooler than the standard 30 MHz oscillator. The
voltage control feature provides a tuning range of +/- 8 ppm to put it
exactly (well, exactly enough for most applications) on frequency.
