Johan,

   the simplest of the tests is to connect your Rx to a signal
generator set for a frequency offset by e.g. 5 or 10 kHz from the band
center. If your Rx provides both I and Q signals with the correct
phase and amplitude balance, you will see (using SDRadio) just one
peak offset from the band center by those 5 or 10 kHz.
If instead you see a double peak, one at minus 5 or 10 kHz and the
other at plus 5 or 10 kHz, then just one of the two signals is
actually sent to the software, or they are badly wrong as phase and
amplitude are concerned.
