Thanks to all who answered, both with private and group messages
(especially Jim and Cecil). I have had a couple of busy days, so I am
a bit late in replying.
>From what has been said, it looks like I can download for free an
evaluation copy of the IPP, then continue to use it after the expiry
date, provided its use is for strictly hobbyist and/or personal
purposes. Looks good. I gave a first glance to the IPP APIs, and they
seem somewhat different from the SPL APIs, differently structured, and
there isn't a one-to-one correspondance. So I think I will study them
and maybe use them for new programs. In this moment I don't feel the
urgent need to convert my existing programs (nor I have the time to do
it), also considering that the failing API (WinKaiser) can be
circumvented with some workarounds.
Thanks to everybody for the interest and for the useful suggestions.
