The guy I got the PCB from has the clock set up using the same 125Mhz
crystal oscillator used in the IQ-VFO and IQ-Pro and is running it
through a tripler circuit from Experimental Methods in RF Design ...
it hasn't been properly tested yet but if it doesn't work I'll go with
a lower frequency butler overtone oscillator clock like used in the
9951 circuit for the PIC a STAR transceiver

Actually I'm using a balanced/push-pull Norton circuit in my testbed
... well I was before I snagged it for a Wellbrook loop clone project
... it's a slightly modified version of Dallas Lankford's circuit
