Hello Now I'm working on opensource SDR software project. Major disadvantages of known sdr software is the limited support of different sdr-hardware. Only specific hardware supported or generic SoftRock-like. I think that good idea will be the develop some generic API specification for describe hardware layer in sdr software. In this case software don't need to know how to really switching between TX/RX mode or how to change band, VFO etc. Instead working with com/lpt/usb ports software simple call to dll driver, which different for different hardware, and this dll know how to operate with hardware. Any comments?
