I see no reason that impedes it. But you should sample at 192 kHz, as you need at least two samples per cycle, and the lowest standard sampling frequency that allows it is 192 kHz. 96 kHz and any lower fall short of the at least two samples per cycle requirement, if you consider that the upped sideband of any received mode on the IF is on a higher frequency than 48 kHz.
