on the vga output, for use with other X applications.
My intentions are to use an LCD tv. I will feed tv into a scart input for viewing
VDR recordings. The vga input on the tv would be used for web browsing,
viewing pictures, word processing etc etc.
I want to avoid video output through vga because that would require
deinterlacing and that requires a hot processor. The TV already does a good
job at that at no extra thermal cost.

Say you'd want two output options, one for interlaced video output, another for high resolution vga output for a projector. You could then toggle between them using a user defined key on the remote.I guess this would require us to set all directfb params in video-dfb.c, and not rely on any settings in /etc/directfbrc._______________________________________________This wouldn't provide simultaneous output on two devices with different signal requirements, but atleast it would support switching between them.
