Hello List, i use the softdevice from CVS configured for xv output on an i845 chip set. I have a FF card and a budget and can switch my VDR output either to RGB at the FF card or to DVI with softdevice for direct comparison. Normal live and recorded video streams from Astra are displayed very good with softdevice. But playing DVD via the DVD or DVDselect plugin gives only an instable frame, perhaps low as 10 to 25 pictures/s. I tested output to X11 Window also as full screen, both don't reach normal frame rate. Playing DVD with my FF card in the same system gives normal performance. The CPU is a [EMAIL PROTECTED] so that should be enough for this i think, in the Wiki 1000MHz are recommended.
