I recall some time back on this list, some had mentioned about Autodesk 
University (AU) and the lack of any real M&E classes and importantly Softimage 
ones.
Well this year we've started an ambitious project recently to deliver a large 
scale entertainment track for AU.

For those who are not familiar with Autodesk University(AU) think of it as a 
week-long monster user group for people using Autodesk software.  Last year 
over 8000 people attended.  AU is always held at the end of November and 
depending on your focus and what you sign up for is between 3 and 5 days long.  
During the event there were over 300 classes and lectures as well as parties, 
events and networking opportunities.  Up until now Entertainment has been a 
very small focus at AU except in visualization and there we want to change 
that.  Over the next couple years the plan is to build this into a major 
component of AU which means 40 or 50 sessions dedicated to entertainment and 
ultimately getting up to a couple thousand entertainment Attendees.
Obviously to do this, the key is to have good speakers who know their stuff and 
have interesting credits and histories.  Which is where hopefully you guys come 
in.

We're looking for talks from all entertainment industries including Games, 
Film, TV etc.  This year we've defined a few tracks that the talks would fall 
into and ideally we're interested in sessions that use a couple of our tools 
together even if one is in a secondary role.

Core Techniques:.  Modeling, animation, rendering, shading, sketching, etc.  
You can focus on any of our products or even better on a combination.  As an 
example "Advanced texture and shader creation with Mudbox and Maya" or "Games 
modeling techniques in 3ds Max"

Techniques for the Technical Director:  Classes on rigging, scripting, tool 
creation, motion capture and building pipelines.  A couple examples could be 
"Advanced facial rigging in 3ds max", "Rigging with Muscles in Maya" or 
"Building pipelines with Autodesk tools and Python"

Visual Effects:  Classes on Particles and dynamics and building up effects for 
specific types of shots.  An example would be "Using Softimage ICE to simulate 
nature" or "A to Z believable explosions using 3ds Max and Maya".

Industry Talks:  These sessions tend to be not about product usage and more 
about higher level workflows and the business of entertainment.  A couple 
example titles would be "How to make your own short film. Tips from someone who 
has been there" or "So you want to build a successful Iphone game?  It's about 
more than just the game."

Case Studies: These sessions are all about looking at existing projects and how 
they came together.
