Weird.  Yes, I opened the render tree on the reference object and all the
nodes were floating alone with no connections.  My "3rd party renderer"
rendered the object with the disconnected shaders a pink, which is what you
normally get when you connect up a shader that doesn't exist for it.

I added that XSI_FORCE_SHADER..... and when I loaded the scene the shaders
were all connected again.  Could be coincidence.

I'm not on the beta for Soft, but I can log a tech support request if
that'd help.
