Hi everybody!

It's been ages, I hope you're all doing well J

I have a few questions regarding Face Robot, and am hoping that some of you
have experience with it and might be able to help me out.. I'm testing this
setup in Soft 2013 SP1.

- My biggest problem are strange, wavey deformations around the eye
lids when moving the eyes left/right. These must be caused by what's
simulating the lids' deformation through the bulge in the eye geometry.
However, my eye geometry is completely round (slightly scaled poly spheres,
for them to be round when SubD'd). This doesn't occur on the included "Rock
Falcon" character, but it happens on "Mr. Fitness" as well. Is there a way
to adjust these settings or smooth this popping out?

- Two other things regarding the mouth area. It would be nice to be
able to control the smoothness/falloff of each of the 8 mouth controllers.
On my character, each controller causes quite a hard edge when pushed to
extremer poses, and I thought this could be adjusted (ie. with scaling the
controller) to have more falloff and therefore a rounder curve. Can this be
achieved?

- Also around the mouth there are some not-so-great deformations,
from the lips out to the wrinkles that lead from the nostrils down to the
sides of the mouth. I'd love to smooth out the "weights" for this area (and
also the lips), but can't seem to find weights for that, since it's driven
by the special mouth op and the envelope weights don't have any influence on
that area. My current work around: an added smooth operator that is driven
by the distance between the mouth controllers from each other. Works, but
smoothes out some geo detail as well of course, so it's not ideal. Any
ideas?

- For keyframe animation, I prefer to be able to rotate brow
controllers as well, instead of just translating them. I was able to
orientation constrain the inner brow deformer to the inner brow control
object, which gives me much more flexibility. However, I can't seem to find
a deformer for the middle region of the brow. Do you know where/if such a
controller can be found?

- What also happens a lot is that for created lipsync (what an
awesome feature, btw!), the audio file is lost upon re-loading the scene.
The external source is found, however.

- For frowning expressions, it's sometimes hard to create a pose
strong enough to cause stress maps between the brows and along the nose,
which are needed for sculpts. How can I create a sculpt that doesn't have a
stress map on it or how can I adjust/push stress maps?

- There's a great ppg to re-pick the different geos that FR uses.
However, if geos are replaced, how can I force a refresh of the FR setup?
This effectively destroys the existing rig, as far as I can tell.

- And lastly, FR can handle 1 facial rig fine, but what if there's
2 characters talking? I can manually adjust the active FR model in the ppg
under the scene root, then need to save and re-load the scene for FR to
switch over to the other character. Can this be optimized?

I would greatly appreciate your input on any of these questions. Thanks so
much!

Btw, to whoever created those youtube-channel Face Robot video tutorials -
they're simply fantastic!

Best greetz,

'stoph
