Thanks Matt - will try it out, do you think it will work with the usual problem
areas like around the mouth and eye areas? Gator in 2011.5 never reall works,
you pretty much have to go and sort out the overlapping areas afterwards.

Subject: Re: Softimage 2012/2013 UV transfer question

In the gator options check the uv settings - if you use the by vertex method
rather than smoothed surface and preserve property discontinuities the uvs
should be usable.

Hi all - forgive me for this noob question, but we have stayed with 2011.5 for
our current nearly done feature film and I have not spent much time in 2012 or
2013 - so... was wondering.

To get round a possible dodgy/corrupt mesh thing we normaly do an OBJ export
then re-import and it nicely re-orders things. BUT obviously then any UV work
tends to be a bit trashed by this, and Gator being what it is can only do so
much to get back to where you were. Are there any tools in 2012 and 2013 that
might help in this regard?

Sorry if it is plainly obvious in the docs for these as I have also not had
much time to check those out either.

many thanks

Sandy
