Avid has quite history of shelving products, that they buy. One only has to go to Wikipedia to see the long list of discontinued purchases: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avid_Technology I have been a victim of this odd business model with Matador(Media Illusion) and Elastic Reality. It just makes me think twice when faced with a possible Avid purchase. Well, I lie... I don't think I would ever think of a future Avid purchase.
