Technically incorrect :-) . The Mayans never predicted the end of the world (which seems to be a global misconception). They predicted the end of an "era" or a cycle (which in Mayan is called a Baktun). Sore disappointment for those who eagerly awaited the final Armageddon, but we don't always get what we want for Christmas :-D .
