Weird.. wont let me sign, just freezes at the sign button
Just to say, altough I definately agree to a petition, and while the
source would surely be amazing, I think the message itself would ideally
to be as realistic as possible, not that releasing the code would be
really SUCH a big deal but.. and your message IS very well put, and FAR
from being unreasonable... so..
My attempted petition note;

Speak to ANY Softimage user
(especially if they have also used other solutions)
and they will constantly portray Softimage as particularly unique in a
number of ways.
While many of us have moved to and from different software in the past,
I would urge you to consider the level dismay in the community in light
of this historical package announced EOL, all to get mere glimpe of what
it represents to it's users, and to see that most of us would harldy see
it as just another migration, and that, after careful considerations of
--and/or actual experience on-- currently available solutions.
If you, to which the fate of this package rests upon, genuinely consider
those whom you affect in your decisions, you would at least partly
reconsider, allowing SOME form of continuity, not unlike Composite was
allowed SOME continuity, albeit perhaps in a frozen state.
Sincerely yours,
Jason

Hi list,
I'm generally pretty quiet on here, but I feel like it might be
time to finally make some noise.
I know it's a long shot but maybe if we get enough signatures we
can at least help entice Autodesk to sell off Softimage. I don't
know if it will work or if anything will happen from it, but it's
worth a try. Worst case scenario, nothing. Best case, Softimage
is back before we know it.
let the signing commence!
