Its a dell m3800 laptop set to full HD.

Will have a look at the dpi settings.

This is caused by the DPI settings in Windows.  For example, you will get this 
if you are set to use large fonts, even on XP.
Now, I cannot recall what the settings are on windows anymore, but it's 
probably this setting

you'll have to put it at 100%
