"humanize Maya top 5" thread was getting a little OT so I though it would
be better to start a "How to do this in Maya" from a Softimage User POV in
a separate thread.

I'm not a Maya expert but I'll try to share my little experience (modeling)
when I can.

To answer Szabolcs:

- Bevel :
You have to select edges, not polygons.
An alternative workaround could be select polygons and with this mel
command, select their outline edges:
select -r `polyListComponentConversion -ff -te -bo`
and then run Bevel

- Connect Tool:
I don't think you can with that tool. At least I don't know how.
If you want to do that, you would have to use the old Insert Edge Loop.
Deselect "Auto complete" in it's settings and select the edges you want to
split, otherwise it will insert an entire loop. This will allow you to
change the subdivisions in the history.

Yeah, the more you use Maya, the more you will love Softimage.
I realized how good Softimage was when I started using Maya :D
