In my testing recently, the interchange between Nuke and C4D is excellent.
Also, it really works well for VFX. Sure it isn't ICE, but XPresso is very
ICE-like, and
Mograph can actually do things that would be far more difficult in ICE than
it is in C4D.
I know, I was shocked, too!

One example is having instances follow a curve.
In C4D they can also tumble and collide with each other, in real time, and
also can be interacted with
while the simulation is running. This, for instance, would be much more
difficult in ICE than it is here.
It is also VERY flexible, where most everything on a
deformation/simulation/rendering level (except point/polygon modeling
operations) can be
swapped out for totally different objects very easily.

Client changes will be far easier than before.

This isn't going to be THE solution for everyone, and perhaps not for major
houses using Softimage and ICE heavily, but
The Mill used it elusively on a new TV commercial spot they did. So it does
scale up, at least to TV spot complexity.
Not sure about feature film level, but then again, the best tool for the
job, is the best tool...
