The first windows version of Softimage|3D was 3.01 for Windows NT 3.5. It was the only version to have the IRIX interface. Softimage|3D v3.51 was the 2nd release on Windows NT 4.0 and the first to have the ugly Windows interface which lasted until it's retirement.
XSI was always a native windows application. Early versions of XSI came bundled with Softimage|3D, not the other way around. This was mostly to fill the holes of XSI's incomplete feature set with respect to polygon modeling and particles. Once those holes were filled, XSI shipped on it's own and the price was raised.
