I am really proud of my self adjusting 40 frequency ver 2.5 software that runs on the Lite+Xtall series. However you may feel constrained by the dip switches and having to look up the frequencies. Maybe you have your favorite processor and want to use you own software with display or keyboard or whatever. No problem. If you remove the 12F683 and plug in a readily available 8 pin plug the size of the removed chip, you have access to the SDA/SCL signals of the SI570 on pins 3 and 2 and even the dip switches if you want to use them for something. The only caution is that the Si570 runs on 3.3 volts so you will have to use a processor that runs on 3.3 volts or handle the voltage difference.
