Sorry for misunderstanding Christos' question, Terry. 

Since I hate spurs I've never used the internal PLL. W6XX clocked the AD9951 in 
excess of 700 MHz successfully, and without much temperature rise, I've used 
one for years at 536 MHz. Makes you wonder how much beyond 1 GHz the 
AD9910/AD9912 can be clocked. Hooking up a DDS and a PIC is only the beginning: 
eliminating board ground loops, shielding and filtering are necessary to 
eliminate the zillions of spurs that are possible in the real world.
