After posting my message, I was thinking that NPN transistors would probably work just as well as FETs, except that you need to add the base resistors. I forgot to mention earlier that in Guido's diagram, he has a note saying that it will only work for the CMOS version of the Si570. He is not implying that the parallel port control interface won't work with the LVDS version; only that you can't drive the dividers directly from the LVDS output. Since the v8.3 board has the differential line receiver chip already incorporated, either the LVDS or CMOS Si570 will work fine, and I'm using the LVDS version. Lyle
