Alex:

I'd use the GTL2002 level translator. It's either that or make your 
own bidirectional level translator from discretes. 

Since the Softrocks don't allow for the possibility of computer 
control of the Si570, I'll probably keep using the WB6HDW board with 
the Bit Whacker and cable the RF over to a Softrock.
