I did not > use re-build kits on the carbs, just a good cleaning. Definitely give them a good clean, set the floats etc. but make sure you haven't got the throttle slides the wrong way round. They are handed and the cutaway at the bottom of the slide must face the air filter end. You wouldn't be the first (or last) to be caught like this. Regards Paul H
