Don't know about "DOC"; the valve covers on my '77 CB750A have "OHC 750" on 'em. The DOHC engines first appeared in 1979, I believe, and I doubt that any of those would have been dry sump designs. If your friend has the serial number, post it here or check it out at http://www.100megsfree4.com/honda and that should be the easiest way to identify the bike. Steve
