Well my quicksilver came in Saturday morning (Have you ever heard of Fed
Ex ground del on Sat?) and I went right to work on trying to mount them
on my 400F.
The fairing came with single tube bike type mount. Not sure what bike it
was for . I could force it to work but it would shove the fairing way
too high so that it looked funny plus it would not let the bars turn at
all. If you ever run into this situation , there is a nice little
mounting point that works great. On the 75 (and 76 i think) , the horn
is mounted sideways via 2 bolts that go thru the frame. The horn really
doens't need 2 bolts so I used the first hole as a mounting point. But I
still needed to get the fairing level and away from the bars. My shoei
nos hard bags came with plenty of spare hardware, so i used 2 2" bars
(with holes on each end) and tried those as extenders (basically mouting
one end to the fairing bracket and the other to the bike frame . They
were too long so I temp mounted them to fairing frame mount point and
then eyeballed where it should be aprox and marked with pencil. Put in
vise and drilled out. Got lucky as it worked perfectly the first time.
Anyway it works great and looks great on the 400F. I have 2 basic
questions; 1) on the lower mount frame mount point, it attaches to bike
via a u bolt. The one that came with mine had some pitting so I would
like to replace at some point. Lowes said they didn't have it and had no
idea where I could get it like it was something special. It looks like
a normal u bolt to me but anyone know for sure and where to get one?
2) My windsheild has one or 2 small scratches and again- would like to
replace at some point. I see them advertised all over the web but can
anyone recommend a particual replacement as good quality? 3) any locking
glove box covers out there?

I have seen a full windjammer on a 400f before and (to me) it was a bit
too big. But this one is just right. If you want to see a few low
reasolution pictures of what
it looks like on a 400f check here:
