Hi Folks, My trusty '80 CB650 w/12k miles has started giving me a new problem. After it warms up (I let it idle for about 5 min before riding) and I take off, it runs good until you accelerate to about 4Krpm or so and then it feels like it goes from firing on all 4 to only 2 cylinders. Torque dies off and the engine sounds 'funny', almost like the muffler is plugged.
This bike has had no ignition problems since I bought it new in '79. I had the carbs off last year looking for another problem and they were clean as a whistle, so I don't suspect a plugged main jet or anything like that. Is there any goood way to diagnose the coil, pulser and spark unit that is under the seat? I am suspicious of these components. Thanks!.. Russell in B'ham
