Hi Has anyone used mencoder (part of mplayer) to rip DVDs to DivX on a sparc.
I have an Ultra 10 (1 gig Ram, 440 cpu, Solaris 9 12/03) with mplayer installed, but when i try to make a 2 pass encode to divx it takes approx 23hrs even with "nice -n -19" Is there anyway to speed this up or will i have to revert to an intel box.
