In command line add this:
TERM=vt100;export TERM
If you want to have it permanently add this line at the end of the file

Dear Romeo
With many thanks for your help , please be informed that I am using Telnet
to touch the Solaris server and its current setting on TERM variable is
being read as :
"
#echo $TERM
cygwin
"
Can you please do me favor and let me know what modifications are needed to
get through ?
Sincerely Yours
H.Motamedi
