I only write you cant download this version form SUN. And IMHO support is
dropped for this version. But if you have CDs you can use it. Even if you have
Solaris 5 you can use it. Depends of the hardware its always better to use
latest version - 10 (available only on DVD), drill on older versions to get CD.
IMHO new versions will be only on DVD

Sorry , you mean that the Solaris 8 on x86 platform can no longer be used ?
Do I need to switch on upper versions ? If so , can you please propose a
more suitable one to download ?
