I am managing the Estonian translation of Solfege, so I can share some
experience. Yes, indeed, it is a great program!
The translation of it is managed through http://translationproject.org/
As I can see from
http://translationproject.org/domain/solfege.html
The Spanish translation has been done by Fernando Sancho mailto:
[email protected] and it has not been updated for LONG time.
and the manual http://translationproject.org/domain/solfege-manual.html has no
translator to Spanish at all.
I suggest to contact fsancho first but you could become the next and real
translator!
The steps you need to do is:
- read http://translationproject.org/html/translators.html
- send e-mail to Spanish team leader see
http://translationproject.org/team/index.html that you want to trsanslate this
project, he will get you assigned to it
- send disclaimer http://translationproject.org/disclaim.txt to Free Software
Foundation (see the file for contacts), signed by hand, scanned or faxed. They
will reply within some weeks.
Download the template files (.pot) for solfege and solfege-manaul (+ old
spansih .po files)
start translating and send your finished translation to
[email protected]! see http://translationproject.org/html/robot.html
I am on KDE and use Lokalize for translating but I am sure there are great
programs for translating .po files for Gnome as well.
It is quite some steps to do but your work will be a wonderful gift for
millions and millions of Spanish speaking people!!!
