About 6 months ago, we installed a pro 300. After some months, the pro 300 would freeze up for now apparent reason. We could not connect to it with a browser at this point. It would also not forward web traffic nor email. Rebooting brought it back to life.
At sonic wall tech support’s request, we wiped the units memory and then reloaded the firmware and applied our configuration. After some period of time it again froze up.
Finally, sonicwall sent us a new unit yesterday. I installed it and imported the configuration file from the old unit. Today this new unit also froze up.
Besides the problem mentioned above, we subscribe to the content filter from sonicwall. On the old router it was often necessary to reboot the router in order to get the sonicwall to download the latest content filter. We’ve had to reboot the new sonicwall one time to update the content filter too.
Any thoughts on what’s wrong? Are we being attacked without knowing about it? Is the Pro 300 just a bad design that freezes up periodically? Any help would be appreciated.
