I have a customer with BellSouth DSL with
PPPoE. Every now and then they are issued a new IP address, which locks up
the SOHO3 25V, both on the LAN side and WAN side. The box just freezes,
resulting in their internal network traffic being blocked as well. The
trickiest thing about it is that it will work with no problems for up to a week,
then will have the problem multiple times in a single day...so it is incredibly
intermittent and unpredictable.
Here are some of the specifics about how the box
is configured:
PPPoE
VPN enabled
1 VPN SA to another PPPoE device
GMS Managed
1 VPN SA to a GMS server
DHCP enabled
In working with SonicWall, we have changed a
plethora of settings but have not found a resolution. They sent me a new
SonicWall, but the problem persists. My most recent change was to assign
each PC a fixed IP, thinking that DHCP might be to blame...or at least to
possibly avoid their network freezing when the box crashes.
Has anyone else experienced anything like
this? If so, what did you do to remedy it?
Utterly stumped,
