I'll give you the short version first, because this will be a lengthy
try :

1. i have never tried to edit the exp file and then re-import it, but
could probably be done if you only wanted to change LAN/WAN IP addresses
or some other basic setting. Rules are more complex regarding numbering,
new services and so on, so maybe it's impossible but you can decide for
yourself if its worth a shot.

2. the exp file is 64 bit encoded so you need to get a decode tool from
tucows or somewhere else.

3. next you must take the decoded file and change the IP addresses to
the other Sonicwall int it. Then 64bit decode and re-import in the new
Sonicwall.

4. didn't work ? Take the decoded file and turn it into a tab separated
file. Change the parameters required ant load it into the new Sonicwall
using swconfig.exe from Sonicwall. If you dl it from their FTP site,
there's a neat example file, follow the syntax strictly, but you will
end up with a BIG tab separated file. Send this to the new Sonicwall
with swconfig and you are ready to go.

I don't think you will be able to actually create new rules this way. It
looks pretty complex in the exp file, so i didn't bother give it a try.

Subject: [SonicWALL]- Edit export file

Is there anyway to edit the export file, using the Sonicwall 200. I
would like to block about 50 blocks of IP addresses and don't want to
have to create 50 rules.
