I don't thing there is a way to stop spam at the Sonicwall (short of
denying all port 25 traffic - heh.)

An effective solution will depend on what resources you have available.
A solution like John T. mentioned would likely be the easiest to
implement and administer.

I'm not knocking the pay route, but if you want to do it yourself there
are several ways to approach this:
1. There are several Linux tools (Sendmail using POSIX comes to mind)
that you can place on a low-end workstation between your SonicWALL and
mail server. If you have Linux/Unix admins on staff perhaps they can
assist you if this is not your forte.
2. If you run an Exchange server, there is this option:

3. There is the access-list approach that Devin mentioned as well.

With ANY anti-spam solution, you will have to weigh the fact that you
may either a) discard not enough spam or b) discard legitimate email as
spam. In some organizations you may have to be sensitive and implement
something like option 2 which has the option to MARK spam rather than
delete it (then the user can make a filter to delete it).

Maybe the next firmware update will have a "Block all incoming SPAM"
checkbox. Do ya think?
