I just tried it with 9.99.72 from September (on an Intel i5-3340M), and
I get the same bogus "2 MHz" value reported. I'd thought it had worked
at some point in the past, but maybe I'm misremembering. (I don't
normally use mate-applets myself; I only test it if I'm updating MATE
packages to a new version. I'd remembered the code in question from
looking through it some time ago.)
