vmd(8): better handling of virtual switch descriptions
in vm.conf, switch definitions can now include the keyword 'description':
switch myswitch {
description "foo"
interface veb0
}
will cause vmd to change the host veb0 interface description to "foo".
switch myswitch {
description
interface veb0
}
eg "description" by itself without a provided description,
will simulate the 8.0 and previous behavior; vmd will change the host
veb0 interface description to "switch%d-%s", where %d is the numerical
index of the switch in vm.conf and %s is the name of the switch (in this
case, myswitch): "switch1-myswitch".
switch myswitch {
interface veb0
}
without any "description" keyword will cause vmd to not set any
description on the host veb0 interface. this is suitable for situations
where the administrator has already placed a description for said interface
in /etc/hostname.veb0 and does not want it altered by vmd.
note this change does not alter vmd behavior for descriptions on VM tapX
interfaces on the host. that behavior remains the same as 8.0 and before.
