The reason that I didn't think that this was the case was that it was only the
newest beta that had broken the display of unicode and utf-8 I had been working
on. Just to check I reverted to the beta 9 and my display script works again.
Here are the results of the previous tests run on beta 9 for comparison.

The CJK characters were doubled in that version, so I think the added 0 may be
some other artifact.
