I had similar problems. 

Timo, as I thought about this feature more, I thought a better configuration 
approach might be to
have a checkbox instead of a text box for entering a file path.

Check the box to store files "externally". Don't check the box to store files 
in the local folder.
And I don't think we need to offer options of where to store the files. I think 
we can just pick a
logical location and stick with it. [user folder]/.sourcejammer seems like a 
pretty good place,
though I realize that this is inconsistent with other files the client stores. 
Probably we should
store the [username].[archive] files in there as well, but let's not worry 
about that for this
release.
